Our practice fale launch

 On Monday we practised our fale launches. ( A fale launch is basically a parade ) There is Kowhai , Totara , Kauri and Rata, i'm in Rata. The group who collects the most red, round tokens wins a whole block free. We practised the fale launch under the shade, we started yelling our chant ,  soon everyone was chanting and we couldn't hear a normal word, everything was like KTINIUKUCRCNKLPOKGYVYPJEOINJFH!    We couldn't even hear ourselves. After the launch I had a head ache. I honestly don't want to do the actual launch but I have to :<  R.I.P my ears. 

Cross country zones

I had zones because I got 1st place on cross country so a week after cross country the top 5 went to zones. We travelled on a old, dirty bus it was large but it had pink gum on the seat so it was pretty disgusting sitting there. The place where we did the zones was at blockhouse bay tennis club but we were running on the wet muddy fields (there were a lot of smooched worms at the surface). First the seven year old's ran, then the 8 year old's but then.... it was our turn, we walked to the start line to not waste our energy ( we were standing there for about 15 minutes because the 8 year old boys were still running) The lady who starts the race walked up with red wooden blocks and stood behind us. I was extremely nervous. The lady started the race by banging the red wooden blocks together and I dashed on the muddy grass and in no time I was done the first loop, there was a girl in front of me which I couldn't beat and she ended up wining but I got second which is good and I'm proud of my self!😀

Panikeke

Today we tasted a panikeke. It tasted so good that I wanted it to last forever. As usual I was close to being the last one to finish it because I wanted to take small bites whilst I wrote down how it tastes and all that stuff. The size was just like a tennis ball and as round as a hand ball. The crust was a mixture of brown and yellow, it tasted a bit different from the inside. The inside was light yellow with brown dots of banana. It also tasted a bit like banana bread with some sugar. When I was eating it ,I could even taste that it was fried.

Bee experiment

 Today my class and I did a science experiment on dead bumble bees. (They died naturally) First each of us got a bumble bee in a container to share with a buddy. My buddy was Priscilla, we opened the container ,some people were scared to open it. We got a tiny honey  bee worker, he was as small as a new born fish .Its legs were as black as the midnight sky.The bumble bee was also hairy and smelt a lot ( It smelt like a  rotten egg) It was yellow and black like any other bumble bee. We pinched it and  rolled it with tweezers until we got enough information. Here's one thing I learnt . Bees can't see the colour red and  Bees fart, also they have five eyes.
