 Today we had a cyber smart lesson with Phill about how to make a GIF. It was quite easy, all you have to do is take three pictures of anything ( or more) and here is what mine looks like.

100 word weekend recount

 During the weekend I was as bored as a sloth, I had nothing to do, so I hopped down stairs and glanced at my beans that I planted about a month ago. The plant wasn’t that large but it had a green, delicious looking bean, gangling from the plant, it was as smooth as a banana peel. I really wanted to gobble it up but it wasn’t ready yet. The bean plant was growing in a little pot inside of our house so the snails and slugs wouldn’t devour it. The slugs are the inside of an aloe plant.

Today I coloured in another picture from this website. I had no reason to pick that picture but I did try alot of styles I could colour the statue in. It turned out nice and I really like it.  I would recommend you to try the website out, it won't keep you bored! Here is my picture.....  

My minecraft building

 Our teacher Mrs Ghosh gave us a task to do. it was to create a room for each of these words.(Taha Wairua, Taha Tinana, Taha hinengaro, Taha whanau.) I did them in random order, if you want try find what they mean and figure out which room is for which word. It was quite fun but it would be even more if it was a team project. I didn't really work on prettiness but it turned out okay.  Also sorry if its glitchy, I don't know why it's like that. It's not glitchy in the minecraft game.

Today I was bored and made this master piece, It turned out creepy especially the monkey but I think it looks better than the original. I enjoyed making this because it keeps the detail and you don't have to do it. If you wanna try it out go to this Link

 

My stop animation

Because we were so good in class, Mrs Ghosh our teacher let us do stop motion animation. I did mine with Priscilla. It turned out great , we had to restart a couple of times but it was worth it. You can see my hands in there at the end because we were about to end it and that meant we had to put everything away. So if we were going to continue it, it would be in different places and wouldn't look good.

  My class did a cyber smart lesson on a postcard. The address and thing on the side is fake but the information is true. It was quite easy since New Zealand is an interesting country. Our lesson was to persuade someone to go to the place and to put the good information instead of the bad.

 

My 100 word weaving story

Weaving

On a normal Friday my whole class did weaving. We had a choice whether to do a simple square with Miss Rose or one from a YouTube video.We did the weaving for science, since we were learning about a plant called harakeke. Miss Rose showed us an interesting video about the plant, like where to cut it or where you can find it. I made mine from a YouTube video, it was quite complicated at first, like where to glue it and fold it and not to mention I had different colours but I got used to the rhythm.

FALE

 So in New Windsor school they started to build a Fale and they finally finished. It took then about 4-5 days which isn't that much, sadly I couldn't do a before and after because I had no permission to take photos of the 3 men who were building it.  Also because I had no idea they were building it on the platform/stage so if I did do it, it would be like, half done. It's supposed to be round but it looks good anyway. The roof doesn't feel like its made out of natural materiel, I feel like its some sort of plastic. They had to cut out the wood on the stage to place the wooden poles. I rate it a 7/10 because when its sunny or rainy it blocks it and lets you be. Also you cant really fit alot of people there but if you do go there, you might get hit with a ball. What about you?

 

Diwali

 Since my mum works in the library I have to come with her and today everyone of the teachers and other people who were there aswell had to bring some food because it was Diwali. One person brought some professional  made sweets and they tasted delicious. My mum made pork with some tasty sauce, I brought some extra jelly and by extra I mean extra because I only had 1 packet of it and there was only enough for 6 cups. There was heaps of fruit and other food like drinks and all stuff that tasted good, my favourite dish out of all of them would be strawberries and mango-lassie.

Shapes

 For my maths, we had to make a tivaevae pattern and also do symmetry at the same time, mine isn't really a tivaevae pattern but yeah. I made the first one a rubbish bin and some food on the ground with an arrow pointing to put the rubbish inside the rubbish bin. The second one was just made up and the third one was also made up. If I could somehow improve it, let me know.

My kitten Pheobe

Also Pheobe

So when my kitten Pheobe was littler, she loved to ride in my toy pram and that was the reason I didn't throw it away. Now she is a couple of months old and looks like a cat ( 1 human year is 15 years to cats and a second human year is 9 years to cats and the rest of human years are 4 years to cat's..I have no idea if it's true, I just searched it up.) I was outside playing with her and put her into the pram to push her, then I decided to put it on my blog because why not? In the picture there will be some yellow flowers because I was trying to make her look at the camera.(I had to pick atleast 6 flowers because of her ) The photos turned out cute and funny. My opinion on her is that she's weird............ just my other pets. :>

 My writing task was to write about a picture. (the picture was pretty in my opinion) So I wrote about it , let me know if I could somehow improve it or fix it.( By the way this is an imaginary story and not true.) Some people hate writing but its actually my favourite subject in school, it helps me calm down and I like to apply my imagination to it. If you think I should become an author since I adore writing so much, it will not happen. 1. because my dream is to become a professional tennis player.  2. I've tried so many times to write a book but either I will not like it or I just don't want to continue it.

 My reading task was to read a book and I chose that book that you will see in the video because since its level 3 we are spending most of our time on the internet and second reason why I chose that book was because the cover interested me ( don't mind the background and my weird voice)

Holiday slugs

 In the holidays I remembered that I had some leftover bean seeds, so I decided to use them. I shifted a huge brown pot with the help of my parents. The pot left a patch of dirt where I could plant the dry bean seeds. I grabbed a curly stick and poked a not-so-deep hole in the hard ground. I then gently pushed some seeds inside multiple holes. A few boring days later I noticed my beans were growing, they were all different sizes , another few days past and I spotted my beans were gone! I examend the ground and I realised that some annoying slugs have chewed up my beans! I was a bit frustrated but I just planted some more seeds, now that I have learnt from my mistake, I drizzled some shattered egg shells next to the seeds. (the egg shells are like a barrier from the slugs) If you want your plants to grow you can scatter some banana peels on the ground. I'm not too sure if it works because I just saw it on youtube.

Lots of WASPS

Auckland is still on level 4 and that means still no school. I decided to go jump on my trampoline and play with my rabbit Oreo cause I was bored, while I was playing, I spotted a wasp which made me freak out a little because it glided right above my non-brushed hair. I continued playing with my rabbit until I spotted two more wasps! I quickly made my way back into my house and got a little container which was made for  trapping insects and examining them. Next I scuttled back to my garden and my heart started beating.... There were like eight wasps on one singular plant. I swapped my container for a bottle full of tap water and sprayed the plant with the water, I sprayed all the wasps a couple times and until they all finally vanished. I then scanned the garden with my normal eyes but I couldn't find a wasp nest so the wasps were probably coming from our neighbours or something.

 Once again lock down is still here and we have to stay inside. So I continued cleaning my room, I have a large car set that had ALOT of dust. Obviously I had to go clean it. So I carried the not so heavy car set  outside and my parents helped with the cleaning( which was the easy part) But I had to take it upstairs to my room! I sadly got a few bruises and they DID hurt. Next I vacuumed the dirty room, I sneezed a couple of times but it was fine. Next station was my desk, I moved some things around and under my desk I did the same exact thing. WALLAH!  Yay   I cleaned my room but now..... The garden! 

Decorating my room

 Since my string thing didn't work I decided to decorate my room with my name, I know it sounds weird but don't worry i'll only write my name once. I took some old cardboard from a box and shaped the letter "D". I then picked out three types of string, light blue, purple and string full of colours. Next I covered the letter "D" in that string. It took me at least  a day to make it. I also found a bubble maker or something that shoots out bubbles when you press a button. Mostly the bubble maker is green and purple but it has some of yellow and dark blue on it. Sadly you have to pour in some soap or something that make bubble in it, so it doesn't last forever :<

Something to try during lock down

 Sadly there is still corona virus. I was trying to keep myself busy so I cleaned my room but then I thought it was time to decorate. I went on youTube and searched up how to decorate your room, of course I picked the most good looking one and watched it. I found this lantern thing made out of string. They showed how to make it and obviously I tried to make it. First you get a bowl, put some liquid glue inside and a bit of water. Next you get any type of string and dip it inside the glue. Then you get any colour balloon ( I would prefer your least favourite because your going to pop it)  you wrap the string around the balloon and make sure it doesn't fall off. Put your balloon on a cup or somewhere safe for it to dry. When it dries, pop your balloon carefully and it should turn out like a ball made of string. You can add some fairy lights if you have any and that will be your light source. Mine didn't turn out good and i'm pretty sure that I didn't put enough string on it.  

 

Olympic

Our teacher gave us a reading task about Olympics and I finally completed it.                                                                  

About my budgie

Today I went to the park AGAIN and at the park there was actually a lot of things on the tree's, they looked like they were coats. But for the tree's, the coats were made out of string and there wasn't only one but like 30 ( I didn't count all of them) They were all different colours, I searched what they are for on google but since I didn't know what they are or called I couldn't really figure it out. If you have read my "About me" blog post you would know that I have 5 pets, 2 fish ,1 cat, 1 bunny and 1 bird. My bird is called Rio and he can actually speak some of my language, which is Russian , He can say his name ,bird in Russian  and for some reason he knows how to make a cat sound he also copies every single bird outside. Right now i'm trying to teach him how to say " I wan't broccoli" because he loves broccoli. He also loves shiny bells. Rio is nice as long as you don't put your hand in his cage because once I tried to pet him inside the cage but he bit me :( So take him out first.

Lock down

When lock down began again I was quite annoyed because we had to stay at home again, not to mention it is level 4 so I can't even get sushi.( which is my favourite food) Also when you go for a walk and a person walks your way, you have to like, walk a bit further away which is just weird. My school was supposed to have speeches but once again lock down ruined it. Our teachers say to practise it but who knows when corona will be stopped, there's like 5-7 cases each day. Since it's not the holidays we still have to have school so we do it on google meet, in my opinion it's okay but I still prefer at school because it's much easier and you aren't on your device that much. I go to the park each day to get fresh air and to get some exercise, personally I think i'm lucky because my house is quite close to the park. The only thing lock down is good for is to spend time with your family and clean your house as much as you can.

Paper plane competition!

 Today our teacher Mrs Ghosh, made us do a challenge.The challenge was to make a paper plane without using a device and only using one piece of paper ,scissors and a glue stick . Our teacher put us in groups of four, the people in my group were Charmy, Nathan ,Marist and me. First Charmy folded half of the paper plane, I helped her with the other half. We wrote our names on the plane one by one. Several minutes later we tested the plane out, it flew through the air smoothly, Charmy thought it could fly further so she glued the plane together. We tested the plane again and it actually worked! (a little bit though) Multiple minutes passed and it was time to fly the planes, one person from each group had to fly the paper plane, my group chose me. The people who flew the paper plane lined up on a white line on the turf, our teacher did the countdown and in no time all the planes flew through the air and we actually ended up second!   

About our interesting term

 Our term was extraordinary because we had a wonderful student teacher that was practising to be a teacher, she did a lot of science experiments like what water is cleaner, about plants (how they grow,we even got 3 beans each to plant in a little plastic cup) and we even got to make a rap! Her name was Mrs Matenga and she was really fun, I mean even our teacher got to rest because she was practising on being a teacher so she had full control for multiple weeks. We made her a beautiful piece of art work that had a tree on it and a beautiful background because she had to go to another school to practise, My whole class got to help with the art work so it was from all of us. Our principal made a token competition and if you show respect then a teacher might give you a token to put in your token box( there are four token boxes,there is Kowhai, Kauri, Rata, and Totara.  This term we learnt about a lot of stuff like fractions, area and perimeter, respect and bullying. We also did a cinquain poem about ANZAC with a picture of anything related to ANZAC with a sunset. For Matariki we animated the Matariki story. We also made a harira  soup with Jean and Khaleed (it was amazing)

 Today my friend Priscilla and I made an animated story of how the Matariki sisters were made so if you don't know how the sisters were made just watch our animation slide (it looks way more smoother if you go through it very fast but you will have to do it a bit slower to read the texts.)

Our practice fale launch

 On Monday we practised our fale launches. ( A fale launch is basically a parade ) There is Kowhai , Totara , Kauri and Rata, i'm in Rata. The group who collects the most red, round tokens wins a whole block free. We practised the fale launch under the shade, we started yelling our chant ,  soon everyone was chanting and we couldn't hear a normal word, everything was like KTINIUKUCRCNKLPOKGYVYPJEOINJFH!    We couldn't even hear ourselves. After the launch I had a head ache. I honestly don't want to do the actual launch but I have to :<  R.I.P my ears. 

Cross country zones

I had zones because I got 1st place on cross country so a week after cross country the top 5 went to zones. We travelled on a old, dirty bus it was large but it had pink gum on the seat so it was pretty disgusting sitting there. The place where we did the zones was at blockhouse bay tennis club but we were running on the wet muddy fields (there were a lot of smooched worms at the surface). First the seven year old's ran, then the 8 year old's but then.... it was our turn, we walked to the start line to not waste our energy ( we were standing there for about 15 minutes because the 8 year old boys were still running) The lady who starts the race walked up with red wooden blocks and stood behind us. I was extremely nervous. The lady started the race by banging the red wooden blocks together and I dashed on the muddy grass and in no time I was done the first loop, there was a girl in front of me which I couldn't beat and she ended up wining but I got second which is good and I'm proud of my self!😀

Panikeke

Today we tasted a panikeke. It tasted so good that I wanted it to last forever. As usual I was close to being the last one to finish it because I wanted to take small bites whilst I wrote down how it tastes and all that stuff. The size was just like a tennis ball and as round as a hand ball. The crust was a mixture of brown and yellow, it tasted a bit different from the inside. The inside was light yellow with brown dots of banana. It also tasted a bit like banana bread with some sugar. When I was eating it ,I could even taste that it was fried.

Bee experiment

 Today my class and I did a science experiment on dead bumble bees. (They died naturally) First each of us got a bumble bee in a container to share with a buddy. My buddy was Priscilla, we opened the container ,some people were scared to open it. We got a tiny honey  bee worker, he was as small as a new born fish .Its legs were as black as the midnight sky.The bumble bee was also hairy and smelt a lot ( It smelt like a  rotten egg) It was yellow and black like any other bumble bee. We pinched it and  rolled it with tweezers until we got enough information. Here's one thing I learnt . Bees can't see the colour red and  Bees fart, also they have five eyes.
